Summary:
Townsville City Council combined Parks Division contracted PDM to review the suite of contract documents which has recently been introduced to all departments for the new combined Council for “fit for use” purposes for the Parks Department. A number of outcomes resulted from this review which gave Parks the information to provide Council’s Legal Department to make changes to the documents that streamlined and better protected Council when engaging small to medium contractors. The review identified that Council needs to change its policy in terms of public liability and private professional indemnity to cater for the various types of contracts which range in price and scope to enable the small to medium enterprises (SME’s) to service Council. This document will become the standard template for all works within the Parks Department.
